D2o2.net linux

Latest d2o2.net linux release is based on lubuntu 12.04 and what to say about - it just works. Few small bugs I've discovered are not so dramatic.

Default browser is Chrome and as office suite Abiword and gnumeric. LSB Openffice and LSB Libre are available at http://portablelinuxapps.org/.

This project aims to provide linux distributions cutted to fit 4GB pendrive with near 3GB persistence file. As the first acts remastered xubuntu 12.04.

As it is a small and non-commercial project there are no help files available. Search the web for 'xubuntu' or 'remastering' keywords.

Practical advices that may help

  • Default dektop content is a mirror of home directory. If you want to change it, create new directory in $HOME and change value of XDG_DESKTOP_DIR variable in $HOME/.config/user-dirs.dirs file (for example if you decided to use a Desktop directory place this line:
    XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="$HOME/Desktop")

  • Keep your JRE on HD.

If you think I live somewhere in your neighbourhood just open your window and shout: d2o2 linux. Loudly and clearly. Best time - short before midnight. You can use drums or bongos to maximize the audience. If you ever dreamed playing vuvuzela - try it. That may help. Let you imagine - a warm night, wonderfull stars and you. Playing vuvuzela. Romantic, isn't it?
If all that fails - sorry. I live somewhere else or I didn't hear you. Anyway - from educational point of view - worth of trying.

And sometimes I'm a member of freenode.net IRC server. Channel: ##kadawer. My nick is Offler
